<p><ul> <strong>Position Summary:</strong></ul>
</p>
<p>The Database Developer/DBA will be responsible for database design, implementation, development and maintenance of relational databases that consumes structured and unstructured data. The Developer/DBA will split duties between doing development in SQL (approximately 60%) and doing core DBA functions (approximately 40%). He/she will also need familiarity in reading Java and/or scripting languages that collects data from social media sources such as Facebook, forums, and blogs.</p>
<p>The Database Developer/DBA will support reporting needs of client services, data needs of modelers, and support data requirements from engineering.</p>
<p>In addition the Database Developer/DBA is responsible for all administrative tasks of the relational database that a DBA would perform.</p>
<p>This position provides a great opportunity for professional growth as it allows for developing databases and related ecosystems from the ground up.</p>

<p><ul>
 <strong> Required Knowledge and Skills</strong>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Significant background in creating complex functions/stored procedures/triggers in SQL </li>
<li>Experience in database modeling tools</li>
<li>Database optimization, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, security </li>
<li>Database normalization concepts </li>
<li>Strong analytical skills </li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills </li>
<li>Ability to set goals, and achieve scheduled deadlines </li>
<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as work in an agile team environment</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><ul>
  <strong>Experience: Required</strong></p>
<li>6-9 years of experience in database development with PostgreSQL or other RDBMS like MySQL, Oracle, etc.</li>
<li>Experience in logical and physical database design and implementation </li>
<li>Experience writing complex stored procedures</li>
<li>Experience in ETL operations</li>
<li> Experience with database system scaling </li>
<li> Experience with database performance tuning</li>
<li> Some experience with core DBA functions like backups, disaster recovery, security</li>
<li> Familiarity with Java and/or scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.</li>
<li> Minimum of a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in related field</li>
</ul>

<p> <strong>Desired (not required):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Experience in data warehousing and business intelligence tools such as WebFocus, Cognos, Business Objects</li>
<li>Experience with NoSQL databases like Hadoop</li>

<p> <strong>Bottom Line: </strong>Networked Insights&#8217;s analysis highlighted content the brand could use to sustain consumer engagement.  It also helped create a social index that the company could use to compare itself to other brands and optimize future campaigns and alerted the company to consumer feedback surrounding the campaign website. </p></p>

<strong>Bottom Line: </strong>Our analysis identified better ways to emphasize nutritional attributes on packaging and in advertising to mitigate negative perceptions. We suggested pairing the company&#8217;s product with other lunch foods to improve the perception of healthiness. And we discovered unrecognized indirect competitors that the company should focus on.

<p align="left"><strong>Bottom Line:</strong> The network recorded strong ratings throughout its inaugural season, attracting an average of 1.7 million viewers a week, and has been renewed for a second season!</p>
